Projeto Fluir

Projeto Fluir is group of students from St Paul's School who aim to collect and distribute menstrual hygiene products to women in Brazil affected by menstrual poverty. Period poverty is an incredibly serious, though not very well-known, issue that affects 500 million women globally. Approximately 1 in 4 girls in Brazil do not have access to menstrual hygiene products, which leads to missing an average of 45 days of school a year! For this reason, we also aim to educate people on the effects of this grave issue, and help break the taboo on speaking about the subject.

Fluir aims to raise awareness about menstrual poverty and its effects on women's lives, as well as collect and fundraise to help directly combat this issue in communities in São Paulo.

Previous Projects:

1

Through a 'vakinha', Projeto Fluir managed to raise R$ 8,000, which was then used to buy 11520 pads.

2

Fluir also raised 11,280 pads from a school drive during women's week.

3

Last term, Projeto Fluir had an International Day stand alongside GirlUp.

Upcoming projects

Fluir is currently working on spreading awareness of its cause through instagram, while continuously raising funds through its "vakinha".
